OMAA for your classroom
Explore how the Museum can support your curriculum both inside and outside the classroom from pre-site visits, activity plans, tours, and more. For assistance in tailoring your visit, please contact Sophie Cordery, Education and Community Outreach Fellow, at scordery@nullogunquitmuseum.org or (207) 646-4909.
Museum Visits
Please note OMAA’s seasonal schedule: open from April 18 to November 16, 2025. Tours and site visits can be arranged during this time. However, our education team is available year-round to support in-classroom learning by bringing activity plans and presentations directly to you.
TOURS
Schedule a tour of the Museum for you and your students, available Monday through Friday between 10:00 AM and 5:00 PM. Tour lengths can be customized to fit your needs and schedule (view OMAA Itinerary Example).
Before visiting with your students, please be sure to review the Educator & Student-Visit Guide which provides additional resources and instruction.
Want to enhance your visit? Arrange a classroom session with our education team before your field trip. They can introduce historical context, museum navigation tips, and close-looking practices to help your students feel more comfortable and prepared for their Museum experience. Contact Sophie Cordery (scordery@nullogunquitmuseum.org) to arrange this.

DIGITAL LITERACY
- OMAA is excited to announce the upcoming launch of its page on the Bloomberg Connects app in March 2025! This platform offers enhanced digital access to over 500 cultural institutions worldwide, allowing users to explore audio guides from our curatorial and education teams, hear directly from artists about their work, and translate content into more than 48 languages.
- OMAA can join your class virtually via Zoom to offer engaging, presentation-style discussions about American art, using highlights from our collection. No matter where your class is located, our education team can provide an interactive and insightful way for students to explore art and its cultural significance.
- We encourage teachers to explore OMAA’s online collection, focusing on artwork currently on view, before visiting the Museum. This activity not only allows students to compare their online observations with in-person experiences to build visual literacy skills but also helps them practice researching and navigating a museum website effectively.
