In addition to completing fellowships at The Kluge Center at the Library of Congress, The Paul Mellon Centre in London, the Huntington Library in San Marino, CA, the Lewis Walpole Library at Yale University, and the Swann Foundation for Caricature and Cartoon, Dr. Lahikainen has lectured widely in the US and abroad. She was formerly a tenured professor of art history and the Art Department Chairperson at Aquinas College in Grand Rapids, MI, where she developed a great interest and expertise in finance, strategic planning, and institutional visioning. She joined OMAA in 2020.
Devon Zimmerman is the Curator of Modern and Contemporary Art at OMAA. His research focuses on transatlantic networks that fueled modernism in art and design. Zimmerman has held various positions at the Museum of Modern Art, Metropolitan Museum of Art, and Cooper Hewitt, Smithsonian Design Museum. He curated or co-curated the exhibitions Deconstructing Power: W. E. B. Du Bois at the 1900 World’s Fair (2022–23); Networks of Modernism, 1898–1968 (2023); Ever Baldwin: Down the Line (2023); and Spontaneous Generation: The Art of Liam Lee (2023). He is also the curator of several exhibitions, including Anthony Cudahy: Spinneret and Lee Krasner: Geometries of Expression (both 2024). He edited and contributed to the catalog Ever Baldwin: Down the Line (2023) and Anthony Cudahy: Spinneret (2024) and has been published in journals such as Modernism/modernity. Zimmerman received an MA from the Institute of Fine Arts at New York University and a PhD from the University of Maryland, College Park.
David Cunningham is OMAA’s Director of Advancement. Cunningham holds a Bachelor of Arts in Art History from The American University of Paris and a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Painting and Sculpture from Parsons Paris. During his ten-years in France, he also pursued studies in drawing and printmaking at The École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux Arts in Paris. Leveraging over 25 years of experience in the fashion industry, Cunningham previously directed worldwide scouting and strategy at IMG Models. While at IMG, both in Paris and NYC, Cunningham signed and nurtured many of the industry’s top talents. He played a pivotal role in generating new revenue streams and oversaw media partnerships with prominent networks, streaming platforms, and esteemed print publications such as Vogue and W magazine. Additionally, he was the driving force behind several significant health, education, and charitable initiatives. He now resides in York, ME and is excited to join the OMAA team and play a vital role in advancing the museum’s mission and fortifying its important place in American art.
Diane Gwynne is OMAA’s Finance Manager.
