Annual Appeal Donation
2020 Annual Appeal
This year, for the first time in our history, OMAA delayed opening until July 1st. Still, we were able to safely welcome over 3000 visitors.
We did not sit idle. We took the unexpected downtime and began moving OMAA in an exciting new direction. We developed online programming like the virtual Totally Tuesday Talks, Arts & Letters By The Sea, and the ARTifacts series and created a virtual 3D map of our 2020 season for our website. With the support of local artists and donors, we brought our annual Art By The Sea Auction & Fundraiser online, surpassing all expectations. Despite dramatically low admissions, membership income, and fundraising, we kept the lights on, our doors open, and our employees working—all because of your generosity.
Focused on the future. Behind the scenes, our team quickly realized that OMAA would need a number of new technologies, structural upgrades, inventive programming, and staff expansion to keep the museum vibrant and broaden community offerings. In a time of uncertainty, we remained optimistic, staying focused on the future.
Imagining the new OMAA. We imagine children being virtually taught about Walt Kuhn’s painting, Sleeping Girl (1922), using a newly digitized collection. We envision our curator presenting an online lecture about the significance of our collection to organizations around the world. We imagine “art in open air” with the development of our landscape, sculpture park and gardens, in conjunction with new and exciting wellness initiatives. We are already overhauling our education program and moving forward to create an improved visitor experience for children and adults. We are creating a unique sense of place for our membership and surrounding community.
PLEASE GIVE NOW. OMAA is strategizing these initiatives, but we cannot do this without your continued support. Please give generously.
