SUMMARY:FOREST THERAPY MEETS YOU IN THE GARDEN
DESCRIPTION:ADULT WORKSHOP – $15\nFOREST THERAPY MEETS YOU IN THE GARDEN\nSusan Bickford\n  \nSUNDAY\, AUGUST 8\, 9 AM-12 PM\nSusan Bickford returns to the museum and to offer an exploration and sharing in the Gardens. “We will slow down\, open our senses\, do some drawing\, writing and embodiment as a part of the experience.” She has crafted several place based meditative invitations to drop you into a liminal zone of noticing in a heightened way. A ritual hand washing in the garden will prepare us for a circle of sharing. A foraged tea and treats will be offered as a culmination. ”By eating this food we become this place.”  \nSusan holds an MFA from the Maine College of Art\, a BFA/BID from Rhode Island School of Design\, and a Forest Therapy Certification from ANFT. She is the founder of the (stillness) project and annual intensive interdisciplinary collaboration in nature which culminates in a performance and a foraged feast. \nBUY TICKETS

SUMMARY:Totally Tuesday Talks: Andrea Rosen
DESCRIPTION:Wood Gaylor was a part of the Ogunquit art colony “from the beginning\,” according to one observer. In this talk\, Andrea Rosen\, curator of the traveling exhibition Art’s Ball: Wood Gaylor & American Modernism\, 913-1936\, will go into greater detail about Gaylor’s involvement in the Ogunquit art colony and his pioneering collecting of folk art; the wacky stories behind iconic Gaylor paintings in Maine collections including OMAA’s Arts Ball\, 1921; and Gaylor’s role in the founding of the Ogunquit Museum. \nZOOM LINK \nAndrea Rosen is the curator of the University of Vermont’s Fleming Museum of Art. She was previously curatorial assistant and manager of student programs at Maine’s own Bowdoin College Museum of Art. She holds a Masters in art history and museum studies from Tufts University and a Bachelors in studio art from Smith College. Her original research on overlooked American modernist Wood Gaylor resulted in the first monographic museum exhibition and first book-length work on the artist\, and her scholarship on Gaylor’s career and its intersections with the American modern art world continues. Rosen has curated a wide range of exhibitions\, including shows on historical and contemporary miniatures\, Victorian fashion\, cartoonist Alison Bechdel\, Afro-Atlantic sacred art\, Asian art\, and Surrealist photography. \n  \n \n \n
